Altrincham FC Community Sports Company have recently relaunched the successful Alty Mini Kickers scheme in partnership with J.Davidson Scrap Metal.

Alty Mini Kickers was formed in 2015, providing football coaching to young children (2-5 years old), as an extension of the wider community work ran by Altrincham FC Community Sports Company. These sessions provide the perfect foundation for children to learn new skills and interact with other children.

Community Sports Co-Ordinator, Simon Dow, expressed his delight with the new relaunch: “We have been averaging 80-100 children attending these sessions over recent years, however, the demand for more places is ever increasing. We have added additional sessions, improved coaching content and offered mini membership packs when players first sign up so that they feel part of the team.”

Around 120 children are now playing each week, spread over seven weekly sessions, including Jamie Davidson’s own grandchildren (pictured with football coach – Sam Heathcote). Simon Dow added: “When we released the new member packs and approached J.Davidsons for sponsorship, they couldn’t have been more helpful at being associated with the sessions. J.Davidson already sponsor Altrincham Football Club, so it’s nice to now have them involved at a community level.”

The Alty Mini Kickers scheme acts as a feeder programme for children to filter into Altrincham FC Juniors, who provide football coaching in a team set up from the age of 5 years old. Altrincham FC Juniors have nearly a 1000 members, boys and girls up to the age of 16.
