On Saturday 18th March, Altrincham FC welcomed Macmillan Wellbeing Centre (Trafford) to The J.Davidson Stadium for the home fixture against Stalybridge Celtic.
Macmillan representative, Judy Thompson, said: “If you or a family member (aged 18 or over) are struggling with the effects of diagnosis, illness or treatment – please call us or drop in – we’re here to help. Our service is open to anyone over the age of 18 who lives in Trafford or who has a Trafford GP. A member of our friendly team is always available to welcome and support you.”
As part of Altrincham FC In The Community (AITC) work, a recent initiative was started to help local charities raise awareness of their causes. AITC are inviting local charity organisations to come along on a home matchdays and promote their work by holding an information stall in the sports hall before and during the game. They can also have a child mascot lead the AFC team onto the pitch, talk with fans, write a programme article and access free match tickets.
